Genotype: Garden Insects

Garden Insects is a mini-expansion for Genotype: A Mendelian Genetics Game that adds Bug Tokens to the monastery garden. During setup, Bug Tokens are placed on the face-up Pea Plant Cards in the Nursery and next to each Punnett Square alongside the usual Coin. When players draft Pea Plant Cards or take the Set Parent Genes / 1st Shift action, they may collect Bug Tokens as an additional benefit. Players can spend pairs of matching bugs for helpful bonuses: Aphids let you draw Tool Cards, Beetles provide Coins, and Bees allow you to immediately Validate a Trait. Players may hold up to 3 Bug Tokens, so timing when to collect and spend them is part of the puzzle.
